Our Business Concept
Albina Snacks business concept is based on providing healthy snacks with high quality. The basis of the whole business idea is to build strong relaonships within every area of the company. Towards our suppliers, this means long asso- ciaon with high control on processes and market changes. For our customers, this means a high degree of flexibility and a precise taste and quality review. For the end user this means a tasty, healthy and freshly roasted flavor from all corners of the world – from the plantaons to the taste buds. Our employees and suppliers together create creave flavors and business soluons that result in healthier and inspiring finished products.
History
The year was 1997 when two former competors chose to join each other to form a common wholesale company in Helsingborg, which focused on food im- ports from the Balkans and the Middle East. This company was named Albina Food AB. The company grew and it quickly became one of the major Swedish suppliers in ethnic foods. In 2003 yet a vision materialized in the form of the company’s own roasng di- vision in Sweden which produces only on order to deliver fresh nuts. The com- pany began roasng, mixing and packaging nuts, seeds and kernels from all corners of the world. The snack segment grew at a record pace from a couple of 100 kg per day to several tons. Six years later, both owners realized that the nut segment had grown so large that a change was due. The me had come for both owners to go their separate ways and focus to a greater extent on what they knew best. Thus, Albina Snacks AB was born. Today we are proud to have achieved the vision of being the first dry roasng company in Scandinavia to offer wholesalers as well as the retail trade freshly produced nuts, seeds, grains and dried fruits from all over the world.

We as a company are constantly improving our social responsibility through:
• Monitored raw material purchases and processing (especially in risk countries)
o Working in close co-operation with our suppliers to ensure that the ingredients in our products are sourced and produced responsibly.
o Supplier audits / audit reviews
• Increased resource efficiency; use of green electricity in production, reduced waste and CO2 emissions.
Albina’s goal for corporate responsibility is to build sustainable value. This means us growing as a company but at the same time ensuring the people and environment are affected positively by our products and operations.

Consumer wellbeing: this is safeguarded through high quality, consistent and sustainable product development. Emphasis on natural ingredients and less salt and oil products.
Reduced environmental impact: we strive to reduce the impact we pose on the environment, our focus is on energy, CO2 and waste. We are moving to more environmentally friendly and sustainable packaging material.
Sustainable sourcing: we also approve key suppliers from a sustainability standpoint. Current prioritization is on raw materials from developing countries.
